I want to be transparent about my use of AI. When AI-generated embroidery patterns began to flood the internet, I seriously considered shutting down my business. It takes me days or even weeks to create, stitch, and write a full tutorial, and I knew I couldn't compete with the quantity or price of AI-produced patterns. I felt there was no point in continuing my work. For over a year, I focused solely on selling supplies. I totally get it if you’re hesitant about any AI use, but let’s face it, if you’re online, you’re already engaging with it, whether you realize it or not. I'm simply enjoying this technology and exploring its potential, not trying to profit from it. I have many reasons for disliking artificial intelligence, and I don't trust it enough to use it for anything important. However, it can be quite entertaining to see how I might appear as a pop-art comic, an embroidered warrior, or a festive frosted cookie. I must say, I’m adorable! I use AI in the same way I use Pinterest and Google for inspiration and brainstorming. For example, I asked AI to "create an image of me fighting the AI monster." I can honestly say the image it produced was quite similar to what I had envisioned, but I would never have thought to depict myself in embroidered armor. After seeing it, I was amazed. It looked so cool, and I really want to make it! AI is useful for generating new ideas, but it lacks the understanding of when or how to use different threads. I am here to share my passion with others, so it is essential that all my embroidery designs, patterns, and tutorials are created entirely by me. From the initial drawing to the final stitch, my hands do it all. I do not use artificial intelligence to generate stitched images or finished embroidery pieces. Furthermore, I do not employ AI to write my patterns, tutorials, or blog posts. However, I do use Grammarly to assist with punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure. I will never attempt to pass off an AI-generated image as my own embroidery or as any original artwork. However, I may occasionally use an AI-generated image in my blog or for fun. There is a theory that AI might eventually take over, rendering humans unnecessary. However, until that day comes, I will continue to be here, helping people create beautiful things with their hands.
